Had to adopt another grandchild

...in a manner of speaking. Older daughter rescued a little bloodhound. Ornery little bastage! All ears and bladder... and sharp teeth. Very sharp! :-o

She has a geezer black pug, too. About 12 years old - blind - deaf - has congestive heart issues - incontinent - other than that just fine.

But Snuffy the Tazmanian bloodhound wants to play - pug doesn't see the sucker punch coming & has taken a couple hard falls off the porch.

Daughter was going to send Snuffy back to the shelter, but it was tearing her up, so we volunteered to take custody until the pug passes away.

il Mutt isn't too impressed so there will be a transition period. Snuffy already nipped il Mutt which resulted in big dog nipping little dog followed by much "ki-yike" and wimping around.

I think things will work out though. I'll see about encouraging her to track things. Not that I'm any kind of dog trainer.

Oh - we adopted il Mutt from younger daughter who couldn't have pets in one of her residences. That worked out well & that dog is a permanent resident now.

You could train this one for finding things and make much pesos from said drug task force at times!!!
I always wanted to try that...capt Webster was gonna do dog rescue training when he retired....said dogs went for about 5k!!!!!!!

Tomtom is trained to find cheesesticks. .. ..

I have discovered bloodhounds sleep in piles. Woke up during the night with Snuffy laying by my neck. Every time I got up through the night I took her out to do her biz & no messes in the house!

When our first dog died of cancer at 12, we got a pup and he proved to active for the old girl, 10, so we ended up getting another pup to keep him occupied.

Snuffers and il Mutt are getting on better - little dog got nipped a few times and boundaries have been established.

I take both out in the morning for exercise and sniffing around. Now if I could just get Snuffers to concentrate on turks! SW
