I finally convinced wifey we will just get stuff for the grand kids & preppy daughters were good with that.

I did get a gift for SiL. He's not a bad sort - good work ethic.

He has a "man cave" so I grabbed a decoration for that = a 250 round belt of blank 6,5 Swedish Mauser ammo. J&G had that on sale for $25. Came packaged for long term storage - heavy duty polymer wrapper.

I almost wish I had a Swedish Mauser - the wooden "blank" bullets look like they could do some damage. I know I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of them during war games!

They also had a crate of 4000+ rounds of the same for $98, but I have a feeling postage would be expensive.

Now to talk myself out of getting a belt for me! SW

I should have got one in the late 80's. Sydney I. had a whack load from F.I. of both the carbine and full rifle on for one late fall sale, and I've been kicking myself ever since.

I actually got to shoot one somewhere in the 90's- accurate, and quite manageable low recoil.
The accuracy reports that can be found on-line still give me twinges...

This was around the time I picked up the FR-8. The 7.62 Nato round is still a good one though, so there are some accuracy condolences in there...
