Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Remington files for insolvency protection this a.m.

It's all over my face book and local news feeds...

If you've been putting off that 39-A, now's the time...

Saw this coming a couple of years ago. Their quality has been really down the past few years across all of their brands. Marlin is really poor in quality. In fact just about every brand that was bought up by the holding company has taken a nose dive in quality.
This from a gunsmiths point of view, but other dealers I know have said the same thing.

Their design department rode the short bus to work. Their last handgun designs were horrible. Also horrible were their extractors.

I thought it was a bad idea when they discontinued the 788. A very accurate and inexpensive rifle. Bad extractors, though. The 30-30 extractor would break like a spaghetti stick and good luck finding a replacement! It and the 44 mag 788 were wonderfully accurate.

Same problem with the XP-100. I had a silhouette XP built in 7-08 & when the gunsmith asked if I'd like an M-16 extractor added for $50 I jumped on that!

Rem failed to heed the warning - "evolve or become extinct."

So far, Savage seems to be hanging in there. SW
