I have a separate account for my internet stuff. I keep a small amount in it until I see something I want & add $ before I buy.

My main man in Budapest repaid me for gun parts I sent & I deposited that yesterday. This morning I meant to check my balance to order another model kit... ATM denied me access & said my account was frozen.

I don't use it much & called in. Seems a random number generator hit my account and "pinged" it for a small amount which is what scammers & thieves do to see if safeguards are in place. That got bounced, but then they tried to withdraw $500 - then $300 - then $100 which all got bounced from the frozen account.

Long story short, I went down & got a different card. Didn't lose a penny to the thieves.

Seems a lot of this crap originates in Nigeria... if you can possibly believe that. Thieving bastards! :evil: :evil: :evil:

I know the cure! Turn that country into a glow-in-the dark parking lot!

I am afraid I have to agree with you about Nigeria. A professor at my college had a Nigerian student who appeared to be a con artist. That was about 1971 before the internet. While I am sure there are a lot of honest decent people there, There is just too much across the board con artistry associated with that country. Internet email scams, etc.

that stinks - least they got nuthin , i agree on turning the scammers to glass and i cant believe they are that hard to find

Yup....happened to us a couple months ago...the checking account got drained by a paper company in China....3rd hit wiped us out...bad thing, it took the bank 3 days to certify we weren't lying, and no money to use for gas etc.....! :-o
Couple checks bounced etc...but the bank made good on it all, replaced money and covered the bounced checks.....
Rule #1...keep a small none card savings account in a separate bank!....leave some money there..... :kap:

And to think....e musk is getting satilites up to cover the ENTIRE planet for phone internet coverage....right now, only 45% is covered... :ow:

I wonder if NATO/anyone can hire the Mossad for surgical strikes in Nigeria. Remove the trash with the least collateral damage.

When there is overwhelming evidence and you catch them in flagrante delicto. They cause too much damage across the world to be allowed to live. There must be clusters of sociopaths there. It is also possible that some Nigerian officials are involved when they escape detection and punishment.
