Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

I haven't been on as much lately - mostly because of writing. The current book is going pretty well & I'm caught up for the moment.

Other than that, my long lost brother expressed an interest in hunting turks so I made a few calls and nailed down permission near where Dad used to live. We had a good time catching up, but no turks to be seen... or pheasants... or grouses... Such is hunting.

Weather hasn't been the greatest here = chilly and then some. +6 this morning which beats the -11 two day ago. Well, it's winter, and what we've got here can't hold a stick to what Doc has in the Frozen North. But we're a little closer to spring, so we got that going for us!

I took Flop Ears out for a hike this morning, but snow was a little too deep & Shep, the wonder Dodge is only 2WD so back to town for Sunday morning deli breakfast. Biscuits-n-gravy for me - order of bacon for the mutt. Now she's flopped on the couch licking her whiskers. It's a hard life! ;)

Stay warm, Friends! SW

sounds like you are making good used of time in spite of the weather , shame about the poor hunting but as you say spending time together is more than half what that was about , nice that you got the opportunity , nice your back too :D

been trying to stay indoors if possible here - moved snow when its come [coming again today ] and trying to stay warm , we always get these spells but every year it gets harder to tolerate them ,

We hit the magic -40 here about 10 days ago - minus 39.9 C which is close enough to 40, which is the identical value intersecting point of Fahrenheit / Celsius.

We have about 18" of the white stuff on the ground now. Maybe we'll get normal water levels this year so I can do some proper walleye-ing :P

Currently back to -10 F or there abouts, which is almost normal for this time of year.
I am itching for warmer weather. Have a new .177 bbl to wring out at the 50 yd mark on that new pumper air rifle I got last fall...

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

yup - and our democrat just declared for president in a snow storm at near zero on all the usual emphasizing global warming , WHY are we not 'tar and feathering and running out of town on a rail' all these elixir merchants - they are phoneys trying to steal our money , selling us false remedy and blue sky , they promise all will be fixed but only further problems , hardship and illness result ,

socialism has never worked anywhere in the history of the world , communism proved this over and over , it only provided the killing fields in cambodia , the gulags in the soviet union , the concentration camps in nazi germany and the vast number of "disappeared" in south america , it has never provided a single instance of the utopia they sell or the "equality" they profess - it gives a severe class system of haves and have nots much like a feudal days we escaped centuries ago , why would anyone want to go back there ?
