I have a little Smith 32, lil 5 shot spur trigger, "drawer" pistol, something for a armadillo dispatch or the like...but where to keep it?....and while I was at a library book sale...I had a thought....on the bookshelf!
The title is:The Comming Fury A 32!....

There's only so much fury from a 32... unless you're an armadillo. SW

There's another way that's more fun - Nebr Squill Fishing!
My closest friend had an outbuilding on his ranch for storing grain he fed to calves. Of course, squills were wise to that and had chewed an entry hole at an upper corner of the door. They'd sneek inside and stuff themselves stupid.

Both of us would quietly approach - one would bang on the side and the other would stand by to catch them with a fishing dip net when they bailed out like para-squills.

Hose 'em with a squirt gun (too far from a hydrant to use an actual hose) and let them go.

ZIP!!! Up a tree they'd race to trace our ancestry back to a diseased amoeba. To say they were pi$$ed is quite an understatement. It was so much fun we never did kill any of them. Good times - good times. SW

Bought a cheap BB/pellet gun last summer and successfully drove them out of the back yard. They were driving the new Mutt crazy. Two or three pumps with BB's depending on distance and a whack on the butt. Take off like a rocket. They don't come around as much anymore, they're asses are to sore.

Had the *&^** ^$##% things get into my northern abode one year. I made the repair guy laugh when I told him I was stalking through the house with a flash light and a .45. I didn't bring a .22 that time. I now leave an old H&R .22 revolver up there just in case the bushy tailed rats make a return visit. I now have an owl decoy mounted where they must have been coming in at. No repeat performance since the fake bird went on watch.

red ones are a pest , the gray ones and black ones we have here are almost a meal with a couple but those yellow ones south from here - they add up quickly in the pot , corn fed and very tasty
