Thanksgiving is coming! Soon to follow is mass quantities of leftovers, and there's an art to being creative with leftover turk. Often remaining on the platter Friday will be found the wings. (except here - I likes wings!)

What to do with them? Hogger's famous turkey wing soup!

Remove wing meat from bones, chop as desired and set aside.

Into a 6 qt sauce pan pour enough liquid from the turkey pan to fill it about halfway. Add the chopped wing meat.

Into this add about a cup of veggies - I like the broccoli/cauliflower/carrots mix. Also add 1/4 cup of instant rice. Next comes one can cream of chicken soup. Then add water or more turk liquid until the sauce pan is 3/4 full.

Stir well, cover and let simmer for at least 2 hours.

You can add gravy instead of cream o' chicken soup, but there is never leftover gravy here. And get creative with other additions, but the basic recipe will disappear sooner rather than later.

I got started making turkey wing soup when I discovered wally world sells smoked turk wings. If you use those, put in crock pot for about 6 hours or until meat falls from the bone. That smoked flavor really revs up the soup.

(In my best Sling Blade voice) - "I sure could use a mess o' those smashed taters! mm-mmm" :crzy: :rotflma: SW

Sounds good. Left overs don't last long here. Wife and I are fans of cold Turkey from the refrigerator... :P
