Merry Christmas. This is about a 12 minute walk from my front door. It's a bridge over the Assiniboine river.
It's a phone pic, and the camera didn't want to shift lenses in the -24 C cold. IIRC, that should be about -8 F.

Merry Christmas to all!

Took a big bag of shredded wrapping paper to the dumpster this morning then took Flop Ears out for a hike. Thought there'd be others out walking off dinner, but no. There was another pickup in the parking lot, but I think they were after a black powder deer.

I told the family not to get me anything, but I did get - and extremely like - a cookbook of soup recipes.

I'm going to try the sausage and hominy recipe as soon as the pile of leftovers diminishes. Mentioned that and the family was like, "Hominy?? Eeeewwww!!" It was funny. They always give me a bad time about refusing to eat onions, but they don't care to eat stewed corn.

Which means I can make a half portion and not have to share!

Also saw a recipe for chili with mushrooms in place of beans. I don't have anything against the beans, but it sure sounded good.

A great gift indeed - I likes me some soup! SW
