I don't get on here very much anymore but like to check in now and then.
I had my 3rd prostate biopsy in Oct and it came back positive. Got started on a medicine regimen in Nov and have checked into CyberKnife radiation that I am looking to get done. Have been checking with the VA to see if I can get then to cover the cost. CyberKnife is in 5 sessions which is done in precision as they install 5 gold pins around the prostate and is computer controlled.

A little update, I had the radiation so I have stopped the chemo pill after I got out of the hospital from gall bladder attack and pancreatitis. The next day after I was admitted I had A-Fib and heart went out of rhythm. Doc ended up shocking me 5 times to get back to normal. That whole experience was no piece of cake as it left me as weak as a new born. I ended up 20 pound lighter and even now 4 months I still don't have all of my strength back and maybe never will.

I had my prostate removed back in February. Beginning stages, only 10% affected. But it's hereditary and my dad had to have his removed several years ago, so I decided to get it over with.

The problem my doctor told me was that if you have the prostate removed, you can still have radiation if the cancer comes back. But if you have the radiation, you can't have the prostate removed if the cancer returns.

The robotic surgery wasn't bad, but the "garden hose" down my little man's throat for a week was a real PITA! Of course, removing said "garden hose" was NOT fun!

Getting your urinary continence back is a slow process. Not to mention the ED that comes with it.

But my last PSA test was a "zero" which is great, and as long as they stay that way I 100% cured.

yea , my father had that done as well , lived another ten years till bladder cancer killed him at 76 , my grandfathers was ignored till bone cancer killed him at 66 , so far im 72 and not seeing the issue but i expect its a matter of time ,

i was a study at mayo for about 7 years , never a positive , thats a while back now , im getting old enough not to care a lot but ill be thinking on getting checked again soon ,

Last time a saw my urologist my PSA was zero and he said I will get 2 more expensive shots which so far I am getting the VA to pay for. Basically my cancer is gone. The chemo pill that I was on took my testosterone down to 0 is why I am so weak.
