Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Been re-reading some favorites from long ago~ Wouk, King, etc....

About 1/2 way through "A Man Called Intrepid" .
(Pay attention to spelling here-big differences)
Basically the in-awe bio of Sir William Stephenson by William Stevenson, who is not related.

What still gets to me some 40 years after first reading, is how much the Brits and Americans knew before the first shot was fired in WW ll.

A recommended read, once you get past the hero-worship.

They say history repeats it's self. May be true- I'm seeing a lot of the not in my backyard and divisional stuff that got us into the mess of the late 30's starting up again...

Also a good look at Brit law and governance, with a bit on how it's done without an official constitution... The checks and balances actually still make pretty good sense.

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

yes - easy to say and true , but look how far down the rabbit hole we are right now , all because the checks and balances are being ignored - the best government is a hear do nothing government because the checks ands balances prevent any one ideal taking total control - we are a long way from that with this admins executive orders - used to be able to count those on one hand , now you need both and both feet plus a friends digits to even get accurate count that he has no clue what he signed , thats as near to a king as we have been in 300 years and we dont want one ,
