There seem to be a few of a seasonal nature... Since it's been chilly, it seemed a great time to make a nice pot pie. Rounded up all the ingredients right away except the crust. (I'm not hard core enough to make mine from scratch.) Wally didn't have them so I checked at the Co-op gro this morning... none there, either. No worries, I'll put biscuits on top instead of a crust. Then I noticed turks are up to $2.00/pound. Weren't we complaining they were 79 cents a pound last year? Ah, well - older daughter is putting on the feed bag this year. She said the turk was $45! My plan B - wild turks! Of course, when I crunch the numbers, it's still $13 + gasoline money per turk. SW |

bought a TurkBreast last month, just a small one, not sure what I paid, (forgot,,,) but it was reasonable, cooked it ate it already, Steve, I have a relatively quick and easy Gluten Free pie crust recipe if you need it, rice flour Tapicoa starch Corn Starch shortening egg vinegar and a few other things I am for getting, crust is not so much flaky, since wheat flour/gluten gives you the flake, but it is crumbly and tasty, did a couple Bourbon Chocolate Pecan pies last month using that recipe |
