I don't get out much and haven't read a gun publication for quite some time. In the Dillon catalog was an article about the 30 Super Carry. I guess it's not all that new, but I'd never heard of it and looked it up just for fun.

Turns out to be the same concept as IPSC shooters having a race gun built in 38 Super = more rounds in the mag. Which seems to be what the 30 SC mostly has going for it.

But I was interested and looked on auction sites for pricing... $450 to $550 seems to be the going money. Which is a bit much for a novelty shooter. Actually, a 30 Tokarev would do just as much for less money if not as 'carry friendly'.

So none for me, thank you very much! (Now I'm interested in another Tokarev.) SW

Some of the new cartridges are actually quite interesting, like the 6.5 Creedmor.
Things are moving away from zip and zowee high velocity lately, which ain't necessarily a bad thing.
From what I've read, it involves a slightly heavy for cal. bullet in front of a moderate powder charge~ the 6.5 case is not big by any stretch of the imagination. User reports on accuracy are very promising...

I also have a lot of boning up to do.
It's been ages since I bought a gun rag...
