After the range today, was cleaning the guns in the living room while watching T.V. During the process, I decided to refill my small oil bottle that I keep in the small kit. I take this larger bottle which has a squeeze type spout, invert it and squeeze. Well the whole spout shot out and all the oil splatted out in a gush onto the rug, the gun which rested on my feet, onto my left hand which held the bottle. As I dripped oil, I hesitated to run to get towels,knowing I'd leave a drip trail. What a mess. You can't easily wipe up oil from a rug.

Better get a good rug shampooer. Next time it might be better to take it outside.

Ok, M14. Easy way to get it outta the carpet is to use good old corn meal. Drop enough on it to soak it up and then use the shop vac to get up the corn meal. Problem resolved....

I learned this trick when my kids were small and poured a gallon of crisco oil on a wool carpet while "cooking" on their fisher price kitchen in their bedroom. Still haven't figured out how they snuck a gallon of oil across the living room in front of my now ex- wife.

Just move your chair over a little.
