Me & LarryBob did the deal this AM & drove up to Crow Butte. Into the ranch we went & yukked it up with the land owner who told us to "shoot a couple dozen apiece - they crap all over everything!"
I backed in between some straw bales which were right beside wheat stubble. Lo & behold, there were about 25 turks right there giving us the fish eye. Loaded my lucky 1100 & walked around the bales to see one looking right at me - 20 paces away.
I put the gold bead on the "shoot here to void warranty" spot & down went the turk. LarryBob started calling me a slob hunter & other unkind stuff... seems I shot TWO but didn't see the second one. I was concentrating on #1.
Two turks - one shot - was out of the truck 10 minutres max - nice, fat wheat fed young turkeys... Life is good!!!
LarryBob grabbed his bow & took off. I cleaned the recently deceased & took my camera down to the creek for pics shown in another thread.
Here are my 2 beside my lucky 1100. Camo? We don' need no steenking camo!
