nice fish - those are not something we would get to eat around here normally - not that we dont have them - we do just not on the regular menu due to regulations and not all that easy to catch here , ive yet to try it but one day i will im not a great fan of caviar either - that i have had - but there are certain things that just dont make me hungry enough to dig into , you may enjoy it very much tho , |

Might be a different species than the freshwater version if it's the Columbia of Oregon... Freshwater version is endangered/protected here. Lake Winnipeg was practically devoid of sturgeon by the early 1900's- Fished out for, you guessed it- caviar. I don't care for the taste of sturgeon. Wife loves it. I caught a tiny one in the Red R. at Lockport 2 years ago and released it without pulling it from the water. Barbless hooks make life easier in some respects... Regards, Doc Sharptail |
