Wifey cleaned a closet & found a shoebox of old pics. My main man & I used to hunt rattlesnakes when they started migrating into prairie dog towns after 1st hard frost.

I always figured 5 or 6 fried up made a good appetizer.

Never killed bull snakes, but they were always fun to photograph. SW

only ate it once a long time ago but it was good - someone else caught the critter

I had it once, had a lot of bones. Almost like eating Northern.

pretty much but you pick through it much as you do the northerns , the meat is really good and a bit sweet as frog - those without the bones ,

bull frogs were prevalent when i was a kid in iowa , they were a camping treat , the big ones had really meaty legs on em , we caught them on bass spinners dangled in their face - very little effort but a big reward when you found them along the banks of the river and could get close enough - a lot less work than turtles
