Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Last night at the mouth of Sturgeon Creek on the Assiniboine R.
Not once, but twice. This is the larger of the two channel cats I caught- at least 12 lbs.
Both were caught on the same charteuse walleye grub (which is 4" long) on my ultra light walleye outfit.
The 6 lb test spider wire braided microfilament line I was using took a real beating after the second cat. I actually attempted to fish further with it without checking the spool and ended up with a #&*!%$+@$ rat's nest. That'll learn me not to bring a spare rod...

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

i rather like channel cat - they are temperamental toward clean water , will hit artificials as well as put up a great fight and very good eating , do not usually fish for them with ultra light tackle tho ...i commend you on landing them , but then that line is far more forgiving than mono would be
