Yours truly with a nice ruffy taken up the escarpment.
Win 52 with the venerable Vortex 4-12X aboard.
Rem Golden Bullet .22 L/R at about 25 yds.

This retirement thing does have it's perks.
Week-day hunting is an advantage at times...

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

congrats , looking good - dinner id coming soon , nice grouse - one shot i trust ?

yes , retirement can have its perks , still waiting on mine till next week after deer opener frees up my schedule , been having meals with my wife more often these days - used to be about once a week with our crazy schedues but that is starting to change , she cooks pretty bohemian , tends toward her czech side of the family but we get a little of her japanese childhood during VN coming out some and abit of her german side sheaking out on occassion , i wonder how the czechs prepared upland birds ? might have to take up a bit of hunting in the future ,
im not a deer hunter - more a fisherman , but i used to be an upland bird hunter and squil and rabits back when i was young , could bag a nice mess of squill in the yard ifin i thought to deprive the pair of owls that like our lawn ,

With that rig, something would be seriously amiss at any more than 1 shot.

It maxed the BDT #17 overall at 25 yds and I think #86 at 50 yds ....
