Well, Im home and happy, getting ready for freezeup.
Put away the last 22 Salmon, and have them all stiff and frozen, buried under hides to keep them that way.
Maby ferment a few and eat with Bluecheeze
Last Wednesday and Thursday, son Jon brought home 5 Bulls, and I caught 2, as I was happy to watch him do the shooting, and keep the butchering from becoming a disaster.... so theres meats galore around now, something that will definitly help get the wifes BS level of worrys down to a tolereble level.
We stopped hunting Bulls, as we heard someone in town had caught a "Stink" Bull, one that had gone into rut. YUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKK!!!
We call it "Motor Meat"...so its Cows now, untill the end of March, as they will be the ones with fat. Theres nothing wrong with Bulls after Xmas, but their most all skinny by then.
We leave some to freeze whole in the skin (27 degrees), and butcherd some down for the freezer.....we bag them when we freeze them, so they wont freeze them into a big lump. Then we pile them frozen, put tarps and finally the bulls skins, as insulation to keep them frozen when the sun is out and the birds from pecking at them. The house were in at the time has no cache, and when we move out inna few days, we have a nice small meat cache to use, and all will be good.
Got the camp removed and boating has been pretty good this weekend, seems Ive burned through a lot of gas, as well as found that a seem in my boat has perosity in the weld that has cracked. At least I found it, as it could have become very serious.
Didnt take the friggin' camera, though.
So it is that we can only boat around in the ocean this last weekend and now, nice and calm it is....
