We were sitting on Mike's back porch drinking coffee and watching some does across the field when the first one walked out. Mike went in and got his rifle and just as he was about to shoot, I saw the bigger one step out of the woods. He shot the first one and I shot the second. Easiest hunt I've ever been on and third largest deer I ever shot.

I do hunt deer. I love to hunt. I love the taste of venison...

Today down here was a day full of sleet, rain, snow... ain't no deer moving today. Not going to have enough money to do 1st season anyway, so I'm glad I didn't get a tag for it. Hopefully will get out for 2nd season or maybe Late Antlerless.

These last few years we've rented out the pasture, which means cows, cows in the woods, cows keeping deer away. More or less I need to find a new place to hunt around here.

I bought a new gun for it this year, a nice 11-87, got it late this summer. I've just been so busy/distracted I still haven't gotten around to sighting it in. Always something going on everyweekend.
