No screwed up arm this winter! Today , its burning in sensation, but not debilitating
Been camping, fixing, hunting, fishing, riding and raising kids the old fasioned way....working them to death!
Came to Kotzebue tonight to drop off Meat, a track for my busted up snowgo and see the doc inna morning about my arm

) but I've got this one...
We built this sled in the front room of our house in Noorvik...We cut down the trees and shaped them by hand with various tools. The runners came from a crooked tree we split in two.
Tied it together with sealskin and shod it in whale bone.
Got this guy with one shot from the Sako, to the base of the skull.Dropped like a rock.
Jon hit this fella inna neck, but a bit low, and blew out his corodit arteries...bled out like a fire hose!
This is the SVT-40 the wife got from Et2ss, and Jon put to the 'Test"...flawless! Crusted in ice, it worked as it should.
We hoped to use a black powder rifle, but that just didnt work out.....maby on Caribou as soon as we run low....
Jon at work.
Hope to get back Wednesday, and post lots more picts, if I get some download time.
No electricity at home in Deering, STILL!, so we still have a small generator......so weve been camping and moving about a bit more, I wish I were more settled, but its a Chinese curse "To live in interesting times"
Aint that the truth
The 3 oldest have been living alone as the two younger ones have to go to school, ( My 19 year old is "The man" of the house for a bit) and I checked the youngers into school in Noorvik, and they have stayed with aunties or at our house with a sitter as we "Git 'er Done" and weve been home about 1/2 the time. The wifes 9 sisters can come in handy now and then
I left Deering this afternoon after a good hunt, gave the oldest boy a few hundred "House Dollers" and talked with their teachers...all is well.
We hope to be back in Deering by weeks end.
Smile and be happy!
