Off, we were in search of Geese, one of our small boats and maby a Bear...LOL!!
Got a couple dozen geese, a nice 9'3" Brown, and we left the boat because we couldnt pull it and our gear in bare ice (read that SLICK!!)
After the first night, we awoke to LOTS OF WATER!!!
Turns out we were smart to leave the boat behind, as the last few day have brought interior waters(where its hot) down the rivers and are about to "Break up"
I dropped the camera in the water, so only the memory chip is any good now, my hunting was on th einternal memeory, but that dont matter, it was the trip home I'll NEVER forget. Took 24 straight hours, and 4 were spent retriving our snowgo and sled from the waters, and just fording them to get home safe.
Talk about WORK being a 4 letter'd word.!!!!!
Most of the crossings were made with two ropes and using the sled as a boat to move our loads across. Firts paddle over, then send the load, then "water skip" the snowgo to the other side, when possible, but even that didnt prevent us getting the rig stuck, the belt wet and usless, and me and the wife pushing it to ice, Ever stand in ice water, +25 above and sunny? ~~LOL!!!~~ Well, its not plesant....goos thing I have my rear runners bent up, so I can just back 'em up, not turn it around...LOL!!
Heres the first time we were stuck, on the way home, out of the Kiwalik.
Heres #2....this took about 3 hours to deal with. The snowgo was not at all easy, but it comes first, as its our way out....
And this is how we got back into the village, about 1 am.
Thankfully, the kids had left some food out for us, and boy did we eat...
Ill re take pictures of the Bear when its on the strecher, so You can have a good idea of it all....LOL!!
