Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Looks like a Blue Heron to me, but I'm no bird expert. Fish eater, anyways...

The monsoon stuff won't let up- it's killed the walleye bite with water too high and too fast for too long. I think this bird would have been doing the stand in the water on one leg trick, if there weren't so many people around. Pretty stand-offish- maybe he's been shot at before.

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

Yep - looks like a great blue to me. The water along the N Platte river has been very high this year, and the herons are loving it. The fish get out on hay meadows that are under water & are easy targets. While waiting to drag a train into the yard this week, I saw one spear a crappie that looked bigger than my hand. SW

yup - looks like the great blue heron that fishes my back yard every morning , i watched him swallow a fish that looked too big - they seem to be able to swaller a heck of a handful when they set their mind to it :-o

There's always a few around at the canal near my place. They are a protected species in europe, but not uncommon.
