Non around here either.

Had some birds out in the barnyard tonight looked sorta like doves. Maybe I'll shoot some and figure out what they are.

I have seen as many as 20 doves in my back yard by the bird feeder. Both the phesant and the quail are pretty well gone around here.

I meant to go but I looked around this morning & where I saw 200 last week, I saw 2 today... There are a FEW around but really not enough to spring for a license. SW

....while I was enjoying another morning of being able to sleep late,I was rudely awaken by what sounded like a shootout,which escalated into what I thought was a firefight.....there were 2 bubbas in the field just south of me that looked like they were just pointin' and shootin into the air ...and in the fields all around us was the sound of others hunting too...then in about one hour all went quiet-not another boom to be heard...only thing that bothered me about the 2 bubbas was that they were so close to my house I could hear the spent shot peppering the corn out back as it came down sounding like heavy raindrops...

I have Doves on the power line in the back yard every AM, but being in town my neighbors might be a bit upset!!

On a side note other then a high speed chase (gotta love going 120-130 legally) at 0615 hours this am that ended with the arrest of a serial rapist I got alot of calls from folks in the newer housing areas complaining of the opening day shots from the dove hunters in the county.

Funny how they don't like to be told its dove season and it will continue (for now that is). Around here even the farmers have issues now that the state feels that farm dust is bad for our health!! And darn those evil tractors that drive slow and clog up the roads
