It seems like a lot of the driving courtesies are no longer being taught.
Highway traffic act here still states that high beams should be lowered for overtaking/following, and for on-coming traffic. Getting rare for people to do so around here. I don't worry about being followed too closely... a temporary surrender of the lane is no big deal to me.

im with ya - ive noticed the same - love it when an oncoming with the high beams on takes my flash and thinks they got me by flashing the lows then realizes they have their highs on , i think too many people drive today on 'cruise' messing with their phone or talking or distracted in some other way , they seem to forget lives are at stake ,

i believe that defensive driving today is more of a requirement than when it was started to be taught decades ago , between these mindless drivers and the insurance companies one might take pause at getting behind the wheel anymore , i do find my drive to and from work to be the most stressful these days - on a schedule [i know i have options , it is flexible] at rush hour times , it is because i now work regular hours like everyone else instead of my old 5am to 8-9pm routine , it is why i took and keep this job , i may retire in two years , then i can pick when i drive .......

Yes, you *can* fix stupid!
