3rd photo may be the upper base camp on Everest.
The last Nat Geo I read cited problems with human waste on the upper reaches of the mountain.
There is still a problem with other (garbage) litter on the access points to the peak.

Read an article saying expeditions now pay a hefty cleanup fee. Can't imagine paying $80,000 for the experience... not everybody survives. Everest is doable - Anna Purna and K2 are almost a death sentence. SW
