Somebody take a look at that M16 picture, they look kinda like they have no magazines.

That's standard protocol - when military people (which is nearly everyone) carry guns, the magazine is on their person but not in the gun.

I can't explain it - that's just how they roll. SW

if you gotta insert the mag - you gatta decide to do it , then rack, tap ... i think they are being optimistically cautious - those coming at them are already locked and loaded , but if it works - WTF ?

Thanks Hogger, I guess that makes sense in a kinda dumb way. Seems like a full mag. and an empty chamber is smarter as long as the rifles on your person. But wtf do I know

i have always thought an empty chamber and empty mag well to be nothing more than a rock with potential , remember back in the old cowboy westerns when the bad guy shot his six then threw the revolver at the other guy - did ya ever see him hit his target ? just sayin ,

If you had to suddenly drop everything you had on your person where would you secrete the magazine beforehand in case something like this happened? You know. Drop your pack etc. oops, no mag. Cargo pants? neck string pouch? velcro ankle strap.

Ten minutes later.

I just looked at the photo again. It appears that the young lady has a velcro strapped magazine attached to the hand guard. The guy appears to have an unusually flat area at the lower part of his left front pant leg.

I'm going with the theory since they're in the military they have practice drills for such things. For their sake, I certainly hope so! SW

I took a third look at the two Israelis and the guy may also have a magazine attached to the hand guard with Velcro. The resolution is just not high enough to tell for sure.
