I'm sure you've heard the old joke about a great carp recipe... tack said carp on a pine 2X4 and bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour - throw the carp away and eat the board. A big lake (for Nebr) used to have a carp catching contest years ago with substantial prizes. I heard it was fairly common for guys to use dynamite. Can't have rednecks blowing each other up, so a law was passed to make the contest illegal. SW |

had an Aunt with a piece of property near Vinton (near Roanoke) had a pond on the bottom of a draw, and it got some rather big carp in it, so she had a neighbor come by and shoot them, was fishing with my high school buddy years ago we were wading the James on the west side of town and I wanted an Asian lady, using a line and hook, no rod, no reel, pull in a big fat carp, she tossed it on a fire she had made on a rock, out of drift wood fortunately we were up wind, SW, you recipe is similar to what I was told was the best way to eat Blues, go to the Outer Banks, catch lots of Blues, clean like normal, wrap in foil, salt, pepper, sliced lemon, and fold that foil up, toss in oven set to 350 till done, take from oven, slip the fish out of the foil into the trash, and eat the foil |

No pics today. The place where I get most of them was dead and deserted. Right now in Russia, if anyone likes an anti-special operation post on fake book or wherever, it's an automatic fine. For subsequent stuff like that, FSB shows up and drags you off to jail. Really. So I'm hoping the place didn't compose something negative about Putin and the war he's not winning. They've been pretty tolerant about my crappy language skills. SW |

That's too bad. Not surprising though, for a country run by someone who sees a possible/probable threat in everything and everyone... even though there's nothing untoward. Expect more of the same. Regards, Doc Sharptail |

I'll keep checking back. Another issue is press gangs taking "volunteers" to fight in Ukraine - even 60 y/o men are being "asked" to sign a contract for serving a specific time. But far too many draftees wind up being "cargo 200". (Putin's euphemism for corpses being shipped home) There are other Euro pic sites like funpic.hu/en but they just don't have the variety I prefer. looking back , the guy with the fishing lure in his ear - yes my sons friend stuck him in the ear once - i was able to get it out safely , i was fishing a remote stretch of water from a canoe once when a friend [my boat mate] stuck mye in the eye brow with a spinner bait that had been stuck in a log ...till it came loose , we had to pull over at a sandbar - pull it around and through the shin then cut the hook off , i had a bruised right eyebrow where it had lodged into the bone above my eye and it looked like id been snake bit the rest of the trip , a few days and many water miles long , i never knew you could stretch the skin above your eye out that far , i could actually watch him cut the hook after i got the barb to come through , i survived without the tetnus shot we thought i might have needed and needless to say we paused on that sandbar for a few beers , that nicely numbed the headache from the stupid thing almost knocking me out of the boat when the snag let go of it , my wife got him back a good number of years later by thumping him on the scalp with a plug , accidently mind you , she had not even heard of the snake bite at that point , but she did that night , |

First frame looks an awful lot like a Sobey's supermarket grocery store, which is one of the big chains here. Never seen a stocker shopping cart like that, though. Regards, Doc Sharptail |
