Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

The writing on the first post is a jab at an old Red Rose Tea t.v. spot.

The more I think about this, the funnier it gets.
Why would the highways dept post signage like that in the first place?

To prevent the moose from doing a Ralphie in a Christmas Story and freezing their tongues to cars?

And who's gonna stop a moose from doing what it wants to anyways?

I get this crazy picture in my head of moose on the road shoulder sticking their tongues out (which are quite long btw) and slapping cars passing by with them.

I better quit in case this is contagious. :crzy:

Regards.

"...The writing on the first post is a jab at an old Red Rose Tea t.v. spot...."

for those of us south of the boarder and on the other side of the ponds - please explain in further detail , im sure those in you country understand it but im missing the tea connection myself ,

i only remember our "tea connections" im sure they are different ?

i love these references , and their origins but like you to those of us 'not in the know' i also only saw the moose on the side of the road trying to lick cars as they passed and also know the moose do as they please when it comes to any confrontations and NO you have no say whatsoever if they set their mind to it ,

Most of the Red Rose tea commercial spots supposedly took place in England.
People would sample the tea and remark on it's good taste, and then be told that Red Rose Tea is only available in Canada. The scripted response was always "Pity" or "Bloomin' Pity". There were at least 2 ads that were supposed to be in Buckingham Palace with the "Queen" muttering "Pity"...
