Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

things in an owners manual I have seen that don't really make any sense.

Manual says....do not use power tool if the power switch does not turn it on or off

I say....If the power switch does not turn the tool on How are you going to use it?

Manual says..... Store idle tool out of reach of children and other untrained persons

I say.....so if it's plugged in powered up and running (not idle) then it's ok to let the kids play with it?

Manual says... Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres

I say.... I live on earth last I checked it's atmosphere was not explosive

Manual says... keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents

I say ... yep dark areas invite accidents ....Like children

the worst one i ever saw said "if you cannot read this manual , do not proceed with using this tool " wonder how many illiterates follow that advise ?

Manual reads like it was written by someone that doesn't speak English as a primary language... :lol

I have had to contribute to a few "User's Guides" over the years and I have done Tech support work for almost that long. I learned early on not to under estimate the stupidity of people. One of my favorites is the fellow who asked me how a programmable controller knows to follow the instructions in the program.

I told him, "We make them to do that!"

To which he asked, "How?"

I told him that it was a trade secret and I could not tell him how we did that without violating my non-disclosure agreement.

Surprisingly, he accepted that!
