Ruger MK 1 Target that my EX-Father-in-Law gave me as a Chrismas present a year before the wifey and me broke up. Because it was a gift she couldn't claim it in the divorce. She got most of my guns but I had the Carcano and a S&W Model 58 before we married so she couldn't get those either. I got most of the housewares and she got the guns and my reloading equpt. Really strange!! Wes |

And now there's the Ruger Charger. Or I should say there was the Ruger Charger. This is one fun shooting pistol. |

My first .22 pistol was the Ruger Mark II. I hated that thing. I could disassemble it no problem for cleaning, but putting it back together there must have been some trick I never figured out right. Put it together, pull trigger, nothing. Diassemble it again, put it back together again....still no workee. Sometimes have to do it 5-6 times before the trigger would work again. Traded that bad boy in for a Browning Buckmark and NEVER regretted it. Then I decided I wanted a longer barrel, and there was Tactical Solutions. Now my .22 pistol sort of looks like Marvin the Martians disintegrater pistol! |

I think Ruger is ahead for the reason back when most of us old guys could not afford much more then the Ruger that was priced low and shot good and thats why we all love them to this day. They cost more today but still are good shooters and make me and others proud to carry one.I have colts and S+W but for the bang for the buck is the Ruger.Younger men with more cash can disagree but if they were there back in the day they would have got a Ruger and felt lucky to have such a nice affordable handgun. |
