Let's see. Ranger is a Ford. An s10 is a Chevy, and a Dakota is a Dodge.
I didn't see a choice for Willys Overland. :-? :-?

Daimler sold Chrysler off a last May because it was hurting them so bad. A private equity company named Cerebus bought them...

http://money.cnn.com/2007/05/14/news/companies/chrysler_sale/index.htm

You know... funny thing... I thought a FREE MARKET was one where if you FAIL at being a company you PAY THE PRICE and DIE. I'm sorry, these companies were RUN INTO THE GROUND by themselves. Its not the end of the world. Heres what happens

1) Big Auto Co declares bankruptcy, depending on the type either they REORGANIZE and start over (amazing how when you get that big all your debt can just evaporate, but woe little peons like you and me are yoked with it for the rest of our lives)

or two the companies just get 'sold' meaning....

2) Foreign Auto Co comes in buys the plants and lines and everything, pears out what needs to be cut from the behemoth, sure many lose their jobs, but their the part of the problem that weighed Big Auto Co down with to begin with... and cars keep getting made here... parts distributors keep on distributing parts... car dealers keep selling cars... mechanics keep working on the planed obsolence pos'es they are anyway... and the world keeps on rollin on.

3) Everything must go, fire sale prices, everything is sold off for scrap metal... THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

4) SOCIALISM, THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT KEEPS ON GIVING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO THE AUTO INDUSTRY BECAUSE IT LIKES LOBBYISTS. MAYBE THEY'LL 'NATIONALIZE' THE BIG THREE! 2009 CHEVRORDLYSER ELECTRIC TRABANTS ON THE WAY TO A SHOWROOM NEAR YOU!!!!!!! WHEEEEE KOMRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let them die

p.s. I really liked our 1980 Chevrolet Scottsdale

also, S10 and Dakota are models of truck not a make... or is the name of the company simply to imply the regular full size truck of that company?

I really hate S10's and older Rangers... but I do kinda like the newer Rangers, and the FX4 Level II Rangers were pretty nifty little trucks...

Get a full size truck or go home... why drive a Ranger or S10 when you can just get a nicely equipped Subaru?

Ya-know, I think you guys just don't like to play by the rules. And if you are going to be like that Willys isn't one of the big 3. (Along with Totota and Honda - they would be the big 2)
I put both full size and small size for all you "green" people out there.
You know who you are. :lol

I actually have a 94 850......been driving it for years. Got over 200k on the clock too :lol Had a subaru wagon many moons ago, it had 275k when I sold it (for more than I bought it)

I Had to pull the lever for GM (gmc or chevy.....same thing)
My first truck was a 1970 C20 with an 8-1/2' bed & a ton and a half rear in it.
Never bothered me at all that I sat right in front of the gas tank :lol

I would have voted Jeep but Comanche and the J series aren't there. So I picked Ford cuz after driving models from all of them, I like Fords (full and compacts) the best.
