I have a 1866 trap door... and if you can believe it.. it was re blued. not looking to sell ..would like to know how bad the bluing damages the value tho'.. I have pix on Flickr under desertsun69... if anyone would like to see them.. also two other guns there.. a Rem. .22 rolling block model 4 S..and and a Stevens .22 model 44.. I will repeat... not for sale! I'm not much of a computer user, and would have to be led around by the hand to do any cut/paste to get pix on here. sorry larry I guess no one can get to the pix... I set it up to be public... strange... try something else...sorry |

I figure re-bluing cuts the value by at least 50% - maybe more if it's been badly buffed. It can amount to hundreds of dollars on an historical arm. I'm not as sharp at google-fu as Mario... I tried to find info about buff - n - blue and only got this: zzTrapDoor.jpg [ 26.55 KiB | Viewed 4126 times ] I should probably use a different search engine than Acme. Yes, welcome. Contrary to what you may have heard, we actually have serious discussions here - Normally on Thurs evenings after 2.5 men. SW |
