I have a model 44 .22 LR ..serial#Q491... that has had some extras add on... different side plates.. incorrect tang sight....... but it is kinda' cute

Not sure I've seen a model 44 Stevens like yours. Very nice looking. Have a 44 Stevens myself. Only odd thing about mine is when I received it from an internet auction and began my cleaning/check process, noticed the British proof marks on barrel and then on end of barrel at muzzle I could make out some lettering. With a magnifying glass able to make out AGPARKER. The barrel had been relined by Parker of Parker-Hale fame circa late 1920s or early 30s. |
