Has anyone tried to reline the barrel of a Remington Model 16 and rechamber it to .22 Long Rifle? I know that it is chambered for .22 Remington Autoloading cartridge and not interchangable with the .22 RF, which is why I want to reline the barrel, along with the fact the barrel is pretty much a sewer pipe.

The dimensions of the two cartridges are very close and I'm hoping that no other modification will be required after the barrel has been relined.

Thanks in advance

Pat

Can anyone give me the dimensions of Remington Model 16 Magazine Plug, Index # 79. See link below for the parts list. I have managed to loose the one from my gun and this part is not available anywhere. This is the plug that goes into the aft end of the magazine tube at the buttplate. I am looking for as many dimensions as you can provide from this part. A picture of it would be nice also.
