Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

I'm reposting this plaintive call for help here because nobody seemed to know in the Italian section (where I thought it might belong). I received this rod in a M1885 Japanese Murata and all that I know is that it is not for the Murata. Here are pics.

End that threads into stock:

Jag end (with jag cut off I think?):

I thought some Italian rods screwed into the front band as this does but posts in Italian forums yielded only the sound of crickets chirping! I'm totally lost on this one so if anyone has an idea please feel free to chime (not chirp :D) in.

Does not seem to match what I find on a type 38 or 99, as those threads are shorter.

Best Regards,

Mark

My sole Carcano rod and one from a Vetterli do not match either.

Thanks for the reply Mark, I guess it will remain a "mystery" rod.

I did notice that the front tip has a very long thread and nice lead on it. This is not common. The thread up by the "handle" is also rare. Most front threads did not have a lead like yours. At least that's an identifier for you, not to mention the rear thread.

I think you'll need a divining rod and a good rifle book to point it at.

Best Regards,

Mark
