The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. Does anyone know if an average citizen of San Francisco around 1885 would carry a handgun and if so what kind and how would he carry it. Thanks for any help.

In the Time-Life series on the old west, I keep seeing pics of men carrying pepperboxes worn in the small of the back. No holster - just stuffed in the belt. Lots o' knives, too.

I don't think it's well to generalize that way, but there were only so many Colts to go around. SW

i read that in the hay day , almost anything might have been carried but it was wise to be protected , it was a very unsavory place , pocket pistols , vest guns , knives of every description , and various types of saaps....oh and cane swords
