Made it to the range with the stevens model 44 that i had converted from 25 rimfire to 25-20 win. as the rifle is old and not made for high pressure loads i loaded 3.2 gr. of Unique with 3 different bullets. the 257312 shot the best but none of them were really stable. the bullets were tipping at 25 yards and the best groups were about 2 inches. all the bullets tried were cast hard and weighed 80 to 89 gr. the twist rate is too slow and i need to purchase a mould of about 65 gr. i think that should help a bunch. One book lists the pressure of this load at 19 to 12 thou psi. and that is about as far as i want to push this nice rifle. no sence taking a chance the rifle is real tight and i want it to stay that way. argie1891

I've always had good luck with 60 grain bullets. Let me see if I still have some cast up. If so, I'll send a few. SW

I'm sitting around waiting for the Evil RR to call & had time to look for the .257 boolets. Found 'em!!! I even found the 25 cal gas checks!! Dang! I NEVER find stuff on the 1st try!

I don't know what mold these are from - a friend cast them for me many years ago & I used them in my 256 WM contender barrel - shot a few in my Model 62 Marlin, but that didn't work too well. They weigh 68 grains w/o the gas check.

I think the boolet is intended for 25-20. It's a flat point design.
