The ambitious turks were up and about. Bottom left - not easy to see - are three toms with tail feathers fanned out. They were fighting over the hens at bottom right which are running away after Flop Ears howled at them.
In the trees are the lazy turks who couldn't see the merit of getting up so early. This was like 20 minutes before sunrise, and they normally leave the roost by then. So little mutt made the turks fly away and howled at a few deer nearby.
Down the road a few miles, grouse were sitting on a power line but no pics. I slowed down with camera in hand but they took off. I think they get their butts dusted off once in a while. But I was glad to see as many as I did - grouse populations have been declining.
Then it was back to town for Sunday morning deli breakfast. Biscuits & gravy for me - 3 pieces of bacon for the dog - who is snoring happily on the couch. It was a good morning for her. Me, too!
