The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Find a horned owl in the very top of a tree... and it stays put until the moon gets into position... NOT easy!

But we have the creative process called "stacking negatives". I actually did find an owl as shown, but it was a lot lighter than it looks. So you monkey with the shutter speed & presto-change-o, it's middle o' the night!

My close friend made me a roll of full moon negatives using a triped & 250mm lens. It didn't take long to find one that matched up... sammiched both of them together & into the enlarger.

Viola! Amaze your friends & relatives! :rotflma:

....and that moon is comin' up almost 90 degrees off so I'd know... :rotflma:

..still a nice pic.....I've got a meesa slides and negs still unscanned with "unstacked" astro stuff

...but did manage to find this one....its an oldie....Moon with Venus,Jupiter and Saturn nearby...one of the rarer planetary groupings back in the early 80's.....hardest thing to take this one was waitin fer the clouds to be in the right spot... :lol

the pair of great horned owls that hang out on and near my property dont offer such shots , but they do lull me back to sleep some nights when i wake up late , its like having sentry's on duty
