Here are 3 pics of a place I take dog breath for our morning hike. Plenty o' turks here. Last Dec, I whacked a nice tom about 4 miles west of this parking lot.

But wait!! What is that shrubbery by the entry??? Aaarrrggghhh! It's evil hemp!! AKA Nebr no-high or Nebr ditch weed. During the war, people raised it to make tug hawsers & rope. Dad was a cowpoke all his life & said the best ropes were hemp. I've heard this is a different species than the cannabis stoners like. It has better fibers - not as much THC.
But the local kiddies can drive out about anywhere & pick the stuff - toss a bag in Mom's dryer & go convince themselves they are big time stoners. "Oh, WOW, man!"
It just grows wild. The county will come out & spray it, but that's pretty much wasted time.

On the way back to town, I spotted these buzzards & tried for a pic. They fly the 8 miles to civilization every morning & make a pretty good living off deer that get clobbered by trains. I like to watch them soar. On a windy day, they will float over the side of a butte, coasting all morning & never flap a wing.
I was clear up on a butte one time & one floated right up to me. Checking to see if I'd die soon? Maybe. I think they just like to ride the thermals.
