log walking is a art....gotta keep yer' hands in yer pocekts at all times....then kinda 'amble' up the tree.......


this was the cheery tree i cut for stock and boards......got almost 30 16"x8ft cherry boards!

will be made into dinner tables/desks/etc when i get the time!

damn thats pretty , i appreciate wood but as i get older i find that im very appreciative of folks with history on property getting the rewards of wood that was grown on that property , too often we raise the wee sprouts only to have the offspring cut them down and burn them ,

bring you up-to-date.
those logs turned into 16" x 8 ft boards...all dried and ready make into furniture~ tables desks etc...got about 10 of those 16" boards that DIDN"T crack!!!! ....I see a cherry dining table in my future

have 2 rifles to finish
2 'secretary' desks to finish (red oak)
then on to the cherry table~ i am researching what i want to make......the table will be easy...it's the chairs that are scaring me!

i see where you think 'lazy' lettin the professionals cut it , but sounds like you got some really nice cherry by watching them work ?

its something that those that do not work with wood cannot understand and those of us that dabble just barely comprehend , there is an art , there is a culture , there is an entire lifes devotion to fully understanding what you have posted here , it spans decades and lifetimes ,
