Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Okay... A friend tells me these are yard or shop switchers. The devices over the boiler are for extra water and fuel oil so a tender wouldn't be needed. This was important when using the turntable at the round house. Plenty o' room for the switcher. Not so much if a tender was included into the bargain.

The short length also factors into this.

When I first started railroading, I worked at Chadron, Nebr & there was still a working turntable at the roundhouse. I only ever saw MoW use it for their machines. The engines we used were maintained at Rapid City, SD. SW

SW , i think i mentioned a while back that my great uncle was stationmaster in alliance and his wife was the telegrapher back when , i think its cose to chardon isnt it ?

Thank you. I thought they were yard engines of some kind but had never seen any like them before. My fathers side of the family up till my father and uncle were railroaders. Father always loved railroads and kind of passed it on to me.
