I just finished an AR15 in 7.62x39 and another in 6.8SPC. I'm in the process of changing the 6.8 furniture over to earth color magpul, just waiting on military spec buffer tube. I enjoy the hard hitting Russian cartridge in the AR format

cool - that x39 looks right up my alley , got a spam can hidden away here

thanks ,theres a lot of felt recoil with the 7.62x39 (more so than my saiga or wasr)so its more satisfying to shoot than 5.56. eventually I'd like to pick up a hydrolic buffer but they start at 100 bucks and I still need a 300 blackout barrel. or maybe a barrel in 7.62x40 but you never see that ammo

the a1 handguards should go on a 20" barrel but all I could find was 16" in 7.62, out comes the dremel and I was able to get a low profile gas block in there. i like the look.

that was one of the features i was intrigued with , i have a retro 556 and its currently wearing a 22cal conversion for fun shooting , but im very fond of the old M16 look , no matter what its configured in

there's something about the triangular handguard that looks better than all of the other configurations, and I only paid $20

Nice retro look with the triangular hand guard. That's a must in my planned AR-15 built. 20" chromed barrel and iron sights too with the old butt stock and carrying handle. The newer M4's don't grab me a bit. Think I'll stick to 5.56mm though.

Thought of doing an AR-10?
