The recent snow storm blew in a gaggle of Ca-nay-juns. Not that anybody minds. When I took little mutt out this morning, there were a lot more people hunting geese than deer.

Only saw 3 guys all decked out in orange, but there must have been a dozen setting goose deeks out in corn stubble.

I think this bunch blew in just last night & are resting up before they go pig out on corn all day. There was a lot of corn raised this year, so I figure we'll have more geese than you can shake a stick at until spring.

I don't hunt ducks or geese anymore, but a friend will bring me one when I get the craving. Every couple of years a nice fat roast mallard sounds good.

Among the Ca-nay-juns are a few sky carp snows. SW

better hunting there than here

Same pond this morning early. The geese are lifting off to go peck corn all day.

You can't see in the pic they are all stirring around, anxious to leave. "Come on, Dear - let's go do brunch before some old fart sneezes on the salad bar again."

They were probably all gone 15 minutes later. Saw several guys using their lay down blinds in corn stubble & deeks everywhere. I have to look twice to be sure expensive deeks aren't live geese. SW

its all in the eating , fixed right they are delicious - little bacon wrap on the grill , problem solved ,

We have a large gaggle the are giving the local park po;ice a hard time. Just wish there was somewhere that they could be hunted as the stay mostly on the prison grounds and they are residents.
