Got a full moon low on the horizon with little in the way of atmospheric interference.
About 4 a.m. this morning.
Big surprise here was the Nikkor P 105mm f2.5.
At ISO 400 here, and f-11 and 1/250 sec.
300mm f4.5 H Nikkor at f8 and 1/250 sec.
500mm Tamron "B" mirror at f8 and 1/250 sec.
The Tamron focuses well past infinity, which is a plus for this kind of thing.
All images were taken hand-held with me bracing against the bars of a wrought iron fence.
I think these would all be a great deal sharper (especially the Tamron) off a tri-pod and electronic release...
I can't quite get over the performance of the 105mm Nikkor.
That is truly impressive for what's considered by most a "portrait" lens.

....besides its kinda a a pain uploading one at a time onto here 
.....but here's a few planetary ones (again you can tell the ones under poorer air conditions vs better)....will be taking new Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in the next month or 2...this year they will ride much higher in the sky which bodes for steadier air...last few years theyve been very low above the horizon...only10-15 degrees...not good
