Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

The story is: dad worked with they Navy dept at Jacksonville Fla after his enlistment ran out~this is a insignia that he designed and submitted for that year's design. seems that each year they held a contest among the units to design and produce a new insignia~ he won that year's, and i have 2 ashtrays with the design. he also told me the Blue Angles wore the insignia for the group too.....wish i could find it somewhere on the web, with the insignia on the tail of a p-80!...this would of been somewhere around 1958-1962???

my father -in- law had a number of these - for the subs he served on , most noteably the nautilus , i wish id gotten them but alas , he hed four sons - i got lucky getting his KABAR in its navey scabord and helmit with the pistol belt-canteen-buttpack-first aid pouch , ill be happy with what i got , but i hope they stay a memento and dont become a trinket[to be thrown away]
