My brother in law was with the special forces during Desert Storm, went in behind enemy lines before the ground war for recon, helped liberate the U.S Embassy in Kuwait. Gave my Pop a "US Embassy Kuwait" Zippo(lost). He gave me a lot of little stuff, like one gas mask, with what appears to be a bullet hole in the eyeport. (Gave it to my buddy Stretch,otherwise you'd see it, too). That was a hell of a battle for a while, with hundreds of thousands of enemy destroyed. A lot buried by the Buff's!(B-52's)! He would have brought me an AK if he could have.

I was a pharmacy officer assigned to a contingency hospital in England. We were flying B-52 missions from RAF Fairford, a nearby base. Our job did consist of providing medical support for that group, but as healthy as they were it was minimal so our duty days consisted of 12 hours of sitting around on our butts. This was a 1500 bed hospital set up in some hangers at RAF Little RIssington, with a staff of about 2500 We did get a few patients, around 100 , mostly sports injuries, one truck accident.

One day we managed a junket over to Fairford to help load bombs, and I still have the plastic storage cover with rubber O-ring, used to protect the cavity where the fuse goes. Interesting thing is that it is made by a plastics company in the town where I live. I use it as a change saucer on my bedroom dresser.
