I was about to leave the local gun shop when I saw a 1858 Remington replica. The blue looked better than most so I took a closer look. No import name, just Pietta, the trigger guard had a different look, a almost fire blue look, or tarnished silver? Checked the barrel and saw the progressive twist I was expecting. The hammer had a bind and would stick when down so I was able to get the price down to $110.

This is my second Pietta "Shooters" model. Ten minutes work on the frame had the hammer bind repaired, I do believe this is a unfired revolver.

A local museum has an original on display... it has marks where a former owner pounded out the cyl pin. Just like mine. I had a friend chuck my cyl pin up in his lathe & turn a few grease grooves.

$110? It's always good to see someone get a killer deal! Good grab!! SW

I can report that it's no longer unfired, I took it and it's twin sister out for stroll yesterday. POI is a bit the the left of POA. Grouped well with both 25 and 30gr loads and .457rb. The Pietta sisters have spoiled me, I may thin the remaining 1858's I have. I don't see them being used often.
