The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. As expected, the ammo shelves are mostly empty at a local Gander Mt, but there seems to be plenty 30-30 ammo left for a fairly reasonable price. Any reason the 30-30 isn't being snatched up like most other ammo?

I had a Marlin 30-30 back in the 80's and liked shooting but sold it to a friend because it was a bit more gun than I wanted for range and plinking back then. His boys still have it and go hunting with it out of state.

Are 336C or other 30-30 levers difficult to come by these days? ... because the ammo seems to be plenty, I'm thinking of looking for one again.
Any recommendations for good lever 30-30's besides the Marlin? I haven't seen any at that store nor at the small local gun shop in town...

A 30-30 Contender barrel is a good way to go in this caliber. I also had a Rem 788 that would shoot whiskers off a gnat's cheek w/o leaving a scar. You have to be uber careful of the extractors on those, though. SW

Nothing wrong with the Winchester 1894, I have a nice 1965 model. It was fairly well pitted so I had it Parked, really nice looking piece that stands up to foul weather. Zilla
